2018 i-Tree Innovators

The Society of Municipal Arborists recognized the work of three urban community impact programs with the i-Tree Innovation Project of the Year award during their annual conference held in Irvine, CA, this past November. This new SMA award spotlights the distinguished efforts and achievements of projects that use i-Tree to make a difference in cities around the world. Congratulations to the following 2018 i-Tree Innovators:

  • The City of Springfield, MA and Regreen Springfield for novel uses of i-Tree tools in community and youth educational programming, job training, and enhancing the quality of life in underserved neighborhoods
  • Hyde Park, London and Treeconomics for assessing and highlighting the ecosystem services provided to citizens by one of London’s most important parks
  • The City of Mérida, Mexico and AGRINET SA de CV for pioneering Mexico’s first comprehensive city and park system urban forest assessment, and implementing creative outreach strategies to improve tree management policies
