Notes on the Syracuse, NY Test Case simulating August 29, 2010.

To simplify management, this test case uses the latest i-Tree HydroPlus.sln and weather data from Hancock Int'l Airport, USAF 725190 WBAN 14771.
This test case sets the HydroPlusConfig.xml parameter RefWeatherLocationRowCol = 0,0 with LC=23,IC=85, TC=0 as a place holder for the airport.
The justification for LC=23 and IC=85 is to represent the 360 m grid cell used for the area, which is dominated by built-up impervious cover.
This test case simulates only the city of Syracuse, NY for a single day of August 29, 2010.
The 100 m road width for NLCD LC = 21, <Urban21roadwidth>, is used to obtain the urban canyon height to width ratio used by the original model.

The published validation used the PASATH model, as reported by Yang et al. (2013), simulated 10 days of observations from August 20-29, 2010.
The original PASATH simulation set HydroPlusConfig.xml parameter RefWeatherLocationRowCol = 11,38 for Station #1 LC=24, TC=0, IC=79.9.
The validation simulated the entire Onondaga Creek watershed, outlet at USGS gaging station Spencer Street; see Figure 2, Yang et al. (2013).
Pixel resolution of 360 m was used, 71 columns and 105 rows. The LandCover.txt only had 70 columns, and this was corrected by T. Endreny in 2016.
The validation used 9 local weather stations for observations, see Table 1, Yang et al. (2013).
Station 1 was reference station, RefWeather.prn, for air temperature and wind speed data, and is archived here.
Station 2 to 9 were validation stations, see Figure 3 and 4 in Yang et al. (2013).
Weather.csv data from Hancock Int'l Airport had air temperature, dew point temperature, and wind speed replaced by Station 1 data.
Radiation.csv was obtained from Hancock Int'l Airport and processed by a precursor to WeatherPrep, WeatherReader created by T. Endreny.
The original Radiation.csv direct and diffuse radiation data had small errors, and this was corrected by T. Endreny in 2016.
Land cover class, impervious cover, and tree cover for each station is archived in Table 1 of Yang et al. (2013), copied below.
PASATH parameter values were entered using PARAM.dat, heatPara.txt, and hard-coded into C++. Most are reported in Table 2 by Yang et al. (2013).

HydroPlus uses 50% soil 50% short vegetation to fill the gap in land cover (when tree cover + impervious cover < 100%).
By contrast, PASATH used 100% short vegetation. This change leads to slightly warmer temperatures, ~ 0.03 deg C.

HydroPlus uses Height_Avg_SVegCover_m = 0.1 m for Syracuse validation, which for some other test cases is 0.05.
By contrast, PASATH used Height_Avg_SVegCover_m = 0.5 m. This change leads to slightly warmer temperatures, ~0.03 deg C.
